What does “having it all” mean to you? Is it attainable?

Why the old definition is outdated, and how we’re defining success on our own terms.

Alright, let’s cut the crap. How many times have you heard the phrase “having it all”? It’s been the carrot dangled in front of us for generations. A perfect career, a loving family, a social life that rivals a celebrity’s – the whole shebang. But let’s be real, does anyone actually have it all? And more importantly, do we even want that anymore?

The traditional “having it all” narrative is tired, outdated, and frankly, unrealistic. It was built on a foundation of patriarchal expectations and a hustle culture that leaves us burned out and questioning our self-worth. We’re constantly bombarded with images of perfection – perfectly curated social media feeds, #girlboss mantras, and the pressure to “do it all.” But behind the filters and forced smiles, we’re all just trying to figure it out.

So, what if we throw out the old playbook and create a new definition of “having it all”? One that aligns with our values, celebrates our individuality, and prioritizes our well-being?

Authenticity over Perfection: We’re done trying to fit into a mold that was never meant for us. We’re embracing our flaws, quirks, and everything that makes us unique. We’re celebrating our individuality and refusing to apologize for it.

Balance over Burnout: We’re prioritizing our mental, physical, and emotional well-being. We’re setting boundaries, saying no without guilt, and making time for rest and self-care. We’re recognizing that taking care of ourselves isn’t selfish; it’s essential.

Community over Competition: We’re building a sisterhood of support, lifting each other up, and celebrating each other’s wins. We’re done with the comparison game and the toxic “keeping up with the Joneses” mentality. We’re stronger together.

Purpose over Paycheck: We’re not just working to make ends meet; we’re pursuing careers that align with our passions and values. We’re using our talents to make a difference in the world, whether it’s through our work, our side hustles, or our community involvement.

Joy over Just Getting By: We’re infusing our lives with joy, laughter, and experiences that make us feel alive. We’re prioritizing the things that matter most to us, whether it’s spending time with loved ones, traveling the world,or pursuing our creative passions.

Here’s what “having it all” means to us:

Let’s be clear: This isn’t about lowering our standards or settling for less. It’s about redefining what success looks like on our own terms. It’s about building a life that is authentic, fulfilling, and joyful.

So, what does “having it all” mean to you? It’s time to ditch the old narrative and create a new one that celebrates your unique journey.
