What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?
Fear Is Lying to You—Here’s How to Shut It Down
Let’s Talk About That Thing You’re Afraid of…
You know exactly what I’m talking about.
That thing you keep dodging. That dream you keep postponing. That conversation you refuse to have.
Maybe it’s launching your business, applying for a job you really want, cutting off a toxic friend, or standing up for yourself for the first time in years.
Whatever it is, it makes your heart race, your stomach churn, and your brain start running a marathon of worst-case scenarios.
But let’s get real—fear isn’t just some harmless emotion. It’s a full-on con artist. And it’s been robbing you of opportunities, confidence, and joy for way too long.
Fear Is a Liar—And It’s Playing You
Fear whispers all the right things to keep you stuck:
❌ “You’re not ready.”
❌ “You’re not good enough.”
❌ “You’ll embarrass yourself.”
❌ “What if you fail?”
Sound familiar? That’s fear, pretending to protect you. But really, it’s just keeping you in a loop—comfortable, unchallenged, and exactly where you’ve always been.
And here’s the kicker: the longer you let fear call the shots, the harder it is to break free.
So, let’s rewrite the script.
How to Stop Letting Fear Win
Give your fear a name. Seriously. Call it out like the scammer it is.
Is it the “Imposter Syndrome Monster”? The “What Will They Think?” Demon? The “What If I Fail?” Phantom?
When you identify fear, you strip it of some of its power. It’s not some vague, all-consuming force—it’s just a thought. And thoughts? You control those.

2. Ask: “What’s the Worst That Could Happen?”
Let’s get logical for a second.
Most of our fears aren’t life-threatening. They just feel that way.
Example:
• You finally speak up in a meeting. Maybe you stumble over a word. Worst case? Someone notices. And then? They forget.
• You post your first business idea online. Maybe nobody reacts. And then? You try again, and next time, someone does.
When you break down the worst-case scenario, you realize… it’s actually not that bad.
3. Shrink the Giant (One Step at a Time)
Fear thrives when we focus on the big picture. That’s why saying “I’m going to start a business” feels terrifying, but saying “I’m going to brainstorm five business names today” feels doable.
Break your goal down:
✅ Scared to network? DM one person.
✅ Afraid of public speaking? Practice in the mirror.
✅ Nervous about setting boundaries? Start with a small “no.”
One step at a time. Momentum builds confidence.

4. Flip the Script: “What If I Succeed?”
We’re so wired to imagine failure that we forget to ask the opposite question.
What if I land that dream job? What if my idea takes off? What if I set that boundary and people actually respect me?
Your brain loves patterns. If you keep feeding it disaster scenarios, it will believe them. So start planting seeds of success instead.

Here’s What Happens When You Face Fear Head-On
I won’t lie—facing fear won’t always be smooth. You’ll have shaky hands, a racing heart, and moments of doubt. But you’ll also experience something else:
Freedom.
The first time you do something scary, it’s terrifying. The second time, it’s uncomfortable. By the tenth time? It’s normal.
Think about something you used to be scared of but now do without thinking. Driving? Asking questions at work? Ordering food at a restaurant?
At one point, those things felt HUGE. Now? They’re second nature.
That’s the power of facing fear.
