If there were a biography about you, what would the title be?

A Millennial Woman’s Journey Through Chaos, Clarity & Unapologetic Self-Discovery

If My Life Had a Book Title, It Wouldn’t Be Pretty

If there were a biography about me, the title wouldn’t be some fluffy, Pinterest-perfect, feel-good phrase. It wouldn’t be about manifesting my way to success while drinking green smoothies on a beach at sunrise. It would be raw, real, and probably a little messy—because that’s exactly how life unfolds.

It would be called Unfiltered: The Audacity of Owning My Narrative.

Because let’s be honest: life is NOT a curated Instagram feed. It’s not all soft lighting and aesthetic flat lays. It’s chaos. It’s ugly cries in parking lots. It’s belly laughs with friends who just get you. It’s lessons learned the hard way, and victories that feel even sweeter because of the struggle it took to get there.

And most importantly? It’s mine to tell.

When Life Serves Chaos, Make a Playlist

Somewhere between my twenties and whatever this phase is, I learned that life doesn’t come with an instruction manual. You’re expected to figure things out while juggling careers, relationships, mental health, and an ever-growing list of responsibilities. And let’s not forget the random existential crises that show up uninvited.

I’ve made mistakes. Big ones. Ones that kept me up at night replaying every bad decision like a bad Spotify loop. I’ve stayed in situations I should’ve left, dimmed my own light to make others comfortable, and second-guessed myself so many times that I practically gaslit my own instincts.

But here’s the thing—I made it through. Every misstep, every moment of doubt, every ‘WTF am I doing with my life?’ spiral led me to a deeper understanding of myself. And that’s the plot twist: owning your story, even the messy chapters, is the real glow-up.

The Art of Bouncing Back (Without Losing Yourself)

Resilience isn’t just some buzzword people throw around when they want to sound deep. It’s a survival skill.

I’ve had to rebuild my confidence from scratch more times than I can count. There were moments when I let imposter syndrome talk me out of opportunities. Moments when I let people’s opinions weigh heavier than my own self-worth. But every single time, I found my way back to myself.

How?

I stopped waiting for validation. News flash: Nobody is coming to hand you permission to be great. Do it anyway.

I started setting boundaries like my peace depended on it—because it did. If they’re mad about it, they probably benefited from you having none.

I gave myself grace. You wouldn’t talk to your best friend like you talk to yourself after a bad day. Try showing yourself the same kindness.

Relationships, Friendships & Knowing When to Walk Away

Let’s talk about the fine art of knowing when to exit, stage left.

Whether it’s relationships, friendships, or work environments, I’ve learned the hard way that not everyone is meant to walk every chapter of life with you. Growth requires space, and not everyone will like the version of you that refuses to settle.

I’ve had friendships that felt like sisterhood—until they didn’t. I’ve had love that felt like forever—until it wasn’t. And through it all, I learned that choosing yourself is not selfish. It’s survival.

If it costs your peace, it’s too expensive. If they only love the version of you that makes them comfortable, they don’t really love you.

The Glow-Up Is Internal (But The Outfits Are Cute Too)

Here’s the biggest flex: being at peace with who you are, where you are.

Do I still have moments of doubt? Absolutely. Do I still make mistakes? 100%. But the difference now? I trust myself more. I walk in rooms knowing I belong. I don’t shrink myself for the comfort of others.

And if that’s not the definition of a glow-up, I don’t know what is.

So, if you’re in a season of uncertainty, feeling like life is serving you more plot twists than progress, here’s your reminder: you are still the main character, even when the scene looks rough. Own it.

Final Word: Your Story Is Worth Telling

The beauty of life is that it keeps unfolding. And no matter what’s behind you, the next chapter is unwritten. So make it bold. Make it honest. Make it yours.
